I found this interesting software for removing any boot virus:

are there any others like that, perhaps easier to use?

For some reason I can't scan boot sector with kaspersky from bootable CD. What worries me is that virus might have infected MBR and then modified BIOS so that 'boot virus detection" is always ON (no way to disable it, there is no option for that). have you heard of such malware?
