reading password on eeprom chip

just looking to find someone that can help. i know this is more for computers but know else can help.i have a kenwood dvd radio that is locked. i need a password but dont have it. i have been reading around and heard that passwords are stored on the emmprom chip. is there away to up up this unit and tell witch chip it is. thinking it has 8 legs. after i find it i can tell what one it is. seen it maybe a 24c01 but dont know. if i can locate this how hard is it to gat password off chip are install new one. thank you for anyhelp

Yes, this site is more for computers and a lot less for hackers of any kind, including people trying to get a radio to work that has been locked by it's built-in security presumably when it lost power being moved from one vehicle to another, or after a flat battery.
I am sure the shop you originally bought it from, or Kenwood themselves will help you out here.

just seeing if anyone could help. i am not hacking or trying to get in computers that are locked either just seeing if any one knows these eeproms just like computers. thanks last post
