network A----------router-------network B
network A:10.0.x.x
network B: 128.0.x.x

An application developed for our office requirements needs to broadcast from network A to network B on port 44555.

The command I used was
IP forword-protocol udp 44555
IP helper address 128.0.0.30

128.0.0.30 runs the client end application that responds to the server application broadcasting from 10.0.0.1.

I think i am not correctly using the command. Please help me, and tell me some other method to solve this issue.

Thanks

hello,

ip helper address aimed to help you relay dhcp leases from dhcp server to other subnets other than dhcp server itself.

basically -- you need to do ip forward protocol udp <port> on both routers.

cheers.
