A friend cannot access certain parts of a website, a games part by the looks of it.

The site uses cold fusion to point to java games, such as the following archive

http://www.textmessenger.com/cards/nojokcg.jar

Basically he gets a white / grey box and nothing ever loads

Java seems to be ok as he can play ones such as

http://www.javagameplay.com/

Any ideas on how to what to reinstall / ways to get around? I thought it might be some sort of content blocking at firewall level as there are quite a few restrictions in place there by the sounds of things

Which browser and which version, OS?

Do you have access to the same browser? Do the games work for you and do your browser settings match his?

They could be blocking content based on the filetype though I'd expect if he couldn't access Java apps at one site that others would also have problems as there would be quite a few that rely on .JAR files.

i would suggest trying another browser or updating his/her current one.

Coldfusion does not appear to be related to the problem, as it is a server side language, which returns everyday html to the client.

Tried enabling Java on the browser? Hehe

Java is a pain in the arse, well the Microshite implementation of it is at least..

If everything is enabled/allowed/not blocked by AV then you need to re-install the MS JVM.
