What is the "academic purpose" it is used for Question

This questionnaire is a part of my master thesis.

Cloud antivirus seems a bad idea. So the idea is to replace the local signatures with some remote files as you can't actually upload your whole disk to get scanned. So now besides wasting CPU and disk I/O you will be wasting network bandwidth...

I mean it isn't that hard to have an update task run each day. And from experience if the computer is not updating correctly from the network it would not be able to access the cloud remote files anyway.

Feel free to counter with some links about the design of these cloud antivirus. Because cloud antivirus is a bit too generic and that is why your survey could be improved.
