I want to get some statistical data from someone about the network security events.
(1)How many kinds of popular operation systems are there? These systems must use different methodologies to develope. And what are their percentages about being attacked in recent year?
(2)How many attacks are there, and their percentages in the attack events?

Thank you very much!

no one is going to "spoon-feed" those stats to you. You will have to do some research on your own for these.

As for the number of OS, there are only 4 widely used and from there you have to find the various distributions of them.

e.g.

OS = Windows, Distros/Versions = Win9x, NT4, W2K, W2K3,XP,VISTA, W2K8
Linux = RH, Fedora, Slackware like Debian - Gentoo, OpenSuse, Nortell .etc
UNIX = FreeBSD, Solaris, AIX, True64, .etc
Mac = MacOSX, Mac8-10, etc.

there are also some customized OS systems out there, but you wont meet them easilly.

As for attacks.. also you will have to search arround since there numerous out there and are increasing by the second.
