Norton Internet Security 7 v10.0.3.3
Issue: When Norton encounters a folder with more than 12,500 files it runs into a capacity issue and becomes sluggish. Scanning will drop from over a thousand per minute to one file or so per minute as it trys to scan additional files. The number of files may vary, but 12,500 is a good target zone.
When the scanning slows the software cannot handle the file table it has created in the scanning process and a malicious program can then inject code into the scan table. As Norton rereads the front edge of the scan table and encounters this code it will divert activity and stop all scanning. This result in the ability of malicious code to install itself without intervention by Norton.
How do you transfer a Norton Antivirus subscription to a new computer? I just renewed my Norton 2005 subscription on my desktop PC. A week later I purchased a new laptop with Norton 2006 installed, but the subscription will expire in 90 days. How do I transfer my subscription linked to my desktop PC, over to my new laptop that has Norton 2006?
