Hi all,

My friends computer boots when the phone is picked up, the only explaination I could think of was it was set to 'Wake on LAN, or Modem'. But I cant find the switch to check it

Laughing

Where in the Win2k is it ?

I checked Network and Power settings, no dice.

Gosh, I believe that setting is in the BIOS?

However, that would be applied to Ethernet cards. The modem waking the PC would suggest that he has some telecom software installed, such as a phone answering center or some such. You could check settings there too.

You might be able to find some stuff in Power Management in Device manager.
In device managet browse to the device and then see what you can find there.
